About Tealights
Years ago, when I had just started out on my path studying Buddhism, I had one of my moments of deep despair. How on earth was I ever going to make a difference in a world so full of pain, hatred, anger, suffering? I felt that no matter what I did, it was a hopeless cause I was fighting for. I spoke to a friend, who had been studying far longer than I had. And she said: "You don't have to light up the entire world. You can't. All you have to do, is be a tiny candle. A tealight, shining not very brightly, but still a flame. And this flame can light several other tealights near you. If you make people happy, they will start doing the same to those around them. And so their candles will light others too and you know.. if enough of us do this, and keep doing it, together we will be so many lit candles it creates a glow that can be seen from the moon." And so here it is, my tiny little tealight.
